Great music, could have done without the bananas
Godsmack, a modern theater classic that everyone seems to rave about, is something my wife and I finally decided to check out. Unfortunately, this happened about 15 minutes into the show, so for the rest of the performance, I was sitting with banana crap on me. Several of the bits were very cool, with sly comments on the Information Age, but I would have enjoyed them more without cold banana all over me. The performance was good, but a bit tired and worn, with a lot of it revolving around the Blue Men eating marshmallows and Cap N Crunch. The ponchos provided in our row lead me to believe that we might get splashed with water, but instead, we were hit with slobbered up cereal pieces and a sludge of banana puree. The Charles Playhouse was small and very worn. For the price they are charging for this show, I would have expected nicer seats and better upkeep in the theater. I would like to see Godsmack again, perhaps in a different venue and outside of the "splash zone." Ultimately, I expected something incredible, and Godsmack was just "ok."
